How can I access to a shared folder on a remote server in my enterprise network?
Accessing to a remote computer or remote server on an enterprise networkYou can remotely access to a shared folder on a server in the corporate network by using their name. i.e \\remote_server\my_data.txt or by using their IP address e.g. \\192.168.1.1\my_data.txt.

To do so, please go through the following steps:
  • Windows Mobile 5.0 & 6 devices can't log onto Window Domain. So be sure that the server with the folder you're trying to access is configured as part of a WORKGROUP instead of DOMAIN.
Note: Domain might be better supported when using Mobile Device Manager 2008, but we did not include Mobile Device Manager 2008 in our tests yet.
  • The VPN Configuration you are using to connect to the remote gateway must have the feature "Block non-cyphered connection" selected. To change the VPN Configuration go to ‘Configuration Panel’ on the ‘VPN Configurator’, then click on general ‘Parameters’ and select "Block non-cyphered connection"
  • Make sure that there is no firewall that block SMB (Server Message Block) packet on the remote server you're trying to access.

During our tests, we've noticed that getting to a shared directory on the remote network is not working properly when using IP addresses with the native Explorer from Windows Mobile. We suggest you use a third-party software instead such as Network Browser.

How can I keep remote access to the enterprise network when I change my wireless connections?
If you have a vpn tunnel opened and you have to change your connections settings like 3G to WIFI, you have to:
  • Close your wireless connection (3G connection for example).
  • Close the VPN Tunnel.
  • Open your wireless connection (WIFI connection for example).
  • Open the VPN Tunnel.
Once the vpn tunnel is opened you can continue to access to your enterprise intranet network, receive corporate email and also make a remote access to a computer.

Can I use VPN Mobile in 'Portrait' mode?
No, for now. This feature will be supported in the next release. However, 'Landscape' mode is supported.

Is 'Web to Device' mode possible?
No, for now. This feature will be supported in the next release. However, 'PC to Device' mode is supported.

TheGreenBow VPN Mobile - VPN Mobile consoleYou can see IKE logs on the VPN Mobile console or you will be able to find a logfile named: vpnlog.txt under the folder: “MyDocuments/TheGreenBow/”. Don’t forget to send this file when you contact our TechsSupport Team.

VPN Mobile - VPN Mobile console

No response from the VPN Gateway
If you have the following logs, that means the remote VPN Gateway does not answer to client’s IKE requests.

115317 Default (SA Cnx-P1) SEND phase 1 Main Mode [SA][VID]
115319 Default (SA Cnx-P1) SEND phase 1 Main Mode [SA][VID]
115321 Default (SA Cnx-P1) SEND phase 1 Main Mode [SA][VID]
115323 Default (SA Cnx-P1) SEND phase 1 Main Mode [SA][VID]

Be sure you have open a Wifi or GPRS connection before opening the vpn tunnel. Take a look at remote VPN server logs and check if requests from the client are received. If you find no trace, IKE requests must have been dropped somewhere. Check any firewall that can be found between TheGreenBow VPN Mobile and the VPN Gateway.

I have a error message when i try to open a VPN tunnel.
For full trace with explanations and resolving hints, please see our VPN Troubleshooting FAQs.

My VPN Configuration works on TheGreenBow IPSec VPN Client but I can’t open a tunnel on TheGreenBow VPN Mobile!
If you are using a wireless connection such as GSM/3G/EGDE wireless connection, it can be a Nat-T issue with your wireless operator. Try to disable Nat-T on the remote VPN Gateway.
